My therapeutic style focuses on increasing awareness of who you are, rather than what you "should" be. Many of my clients describe themselves as highly sensitive, creative, feeling stuck, or struggling to understand how to experience an authentic fulfilling life. Whether you are 22 or 75 years old you may feel blocked, wishing things were different but feeling lost or lacking energy to change. I offer a safe, supportive space for awareness, growth and wellness to begin. I enjoy working with teens and adults of all ages who are seeking to overcome lifelong issues or temporary challenges. I use an eclectic approach to counseling, which is based on your unique concerns. My clinical training and experience draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Family Systems Theory. I incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, gestalt and existential strategies to increase awareness and decrease the issues causing distress. I received my BA from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, where I lived for 10 years. I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Carolina University in Asheville, NC. I am particularly interested in exploring the connection between emotional and physical wellbeing, anxiety, depression, parenting and relationship challenges.
