I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective where value is placed on each individual's needs & goals for treatment. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort wherein the therapist & the client work together to understand the sources of pain, fear & unhappiness, & to make changes that will lead to a more joyful & fulfilling life. I understand that building safety & trust is the most important part of a positive therapeutic experience. For that reason, I aim to create a safe, comfortable environment where clients can experience acceptance, understand themselves more completely, & work towards their goals. I have worked with diverse populations facing challenges with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief/loss, parenting, among others. My graduate training has given me the opportunity to work with adjudicated youth in residential treatment, outpatient treatment, as well as outreach counseling services for youth, young adults and elderly. I am currently working towards my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology, where I have also earned my specialist degree. I received my Master's degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University.
