OPEN DOORS SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP is Program Designed for Children and Adolescents who have difficulty initiating and maintaining social interactions. OPEN DOORS Social Skills Groups are designed to provide children the opportunity to develop valuable social strategies for enhanced interactions with peers and family. We focus on promoting communication, and as a result, they begin to explore their fears while strengthening appropriate responses to negative emotions. Format include techniques such as role play, goal setting, art, drama and more! Participants grouped by age and all ages are welcome. Assessments and follow up recommendations are available. IN GROUPS WE LEARN ABOUT... SELF ESTEEM, BULLYING, READING OTHERS' NON VERBAL CUES, CONVERSATION SKILLS, ASSERTIVENESS, RESOLVING CONFLICT, MANAGING ANGER, RESPONDING TO FAMILY ISSUES, SELF CONTROL, APPROPRIATE INTERACTION WITH PEERS and ADULTS, COPING SKILLS FINDING THE WAY TOGETHER AND REALIZING YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Nicole Pollack, LMSW, CSW, has worked as a school social worker for grades K-12. She has been affiliated with William Beaumont Hospital since 1994. Pollack is an experienced group facilitator in schools and youth residential facilities. Her caseload has included foster care, children with learning differences, ADD/ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome.
