I practice cognitive behavioral therapy. This framework will allow us to help you to change the way you are thinking about your situation, your behaviors that may be affecting your situation, and to make important life decisions. While I believe in being supportive, I will also challenge your thinking at times to help you to see more options for yourself or your family that you haven't previously seen. Homework is sometimes also used to better assist you with making progress faster and starting the life you are wanting to live. Depression is not a normal part of aging. I work with older people to adapt to life changes and to come to enjoy a good quality of life even in late years. If the client is currently living in a facility, I will go to their location and assist in making the transition easier. I have lived and worked in many different communities and have a broad experience base. I completed my training at Tulane Medical School and, while I do not prescribe medication, I do work closely with physicians and can recommend someone to join our "team" if needed .
