I specialize in treating adults in individual therapy for various types of issues, including but not limited to eating disorders, history of trauma, depression, Bipolar Disorder, insomnia, relationship problems, and anxiety. I do psychological evaluations for persons pursuing bariatric surgery, and provide therapy for persons before and after this surgery. I also see adolescents who have an eating disorder and often include their families in treatment. In addition, I see individuals who are experiencing blocks to performing well at work, school, and sports, as well as in the creative arts and other areas, using EMDR to help overcome these blocks. I have over 20 years of practice and experience in clinical psychology. Besides general training in assessment and psychotherapy for various mental health issues, my preparation for specialties in eating disorders and obesity included extensive experience as a graduate student in both treatment and research of both. I am the only practicing clinician in this area to have been trained by EMDR's founder, Francine Shapiro, in the early 1990's. I have since received and maintain certification in EMDR and use it along with a variety of other approaches to help my clients achieve healing and wholeness.
