I stress long-term change in addition to short-term symptom relief and focus on giving clients the tools and insights needed to help themselves on an ongoing basis. My specialties include adoption, adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse, and relationship problems. I also work with a broad range of other emotional challenges in my general practice, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, life transitions, co-dependence, re-building after divorce, anger management and problems with self-esteem. I work with adults, children, and adolescents from the greater Cleveland area. I primarily practice a form of therapy that emphasizes the role that relationships and prior experiences play in one's level of happiness. During sessions clients learn to recognize, accept and voice previously unexpressed emotions in new ways that allow for greater satisfaction in life and relationships outside of therapy. Psychotherapy is not a one-approach-fits-all proposition. I frequently incorporate a variety of treatment modalities - please feel free to ask about them. I appreciate the courage that therapy can require, and match my clients' efforts with the commitment I make to each individual's personal endeavor.
