Everyone has a right to peace of mind. I practice Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a kind of therapy that is typically brief, focussed on issues in the present, with demonstrated success backed by years of psychological research. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive and accepting. I don't like to spend too much time on the past because we cannot change it. We can and do work toward a healthier future and freedom from needless anxieties, depression, and chronic illness. My clients find a safe place to work in my comfortable office and most experience CBT as life altering. CBT is effective because we work together to increase self-confidence, self-esteem and problem-solving skills. Collaborative therapy leads to confidence in exercising control over life events, especially those that are new, stressful, or unpredictable. These skills are important for parents and individuals navigating difficult life experiences. Having taught Psychology and Psychologists at the University level for many years, I have an ability to relate to a broad spectrum of people and to many life experiences. This broad background founded in life and research, and sustained through compassion, informs my practice of clinical psychology.
