I approach the therapeutic process with my clients by building a trusting, warm, honest relationship. I also try to bring a sprightly sense of humor to the process of change, finding laughter a soothing balm for troubled hearts. In my three decades of professional practice, I have been trained in a number of treatment techniques. I do not focus on the "tools" but on you, the client, and your particular needs, choosing the combination that best fits your unique circumstance. You benefit from a focused process that helps you achieve success and independence in a sensible time frame. My practice encompasses extensive work with adults, teens, children, families and couples. My goal is to help clients understand and identify sources of distress, build coping skills, develop positive, life-affirming goals, and attain them. I encourage couples and families to explore sources of conflict in an open, loving fashion. I am licensed as both a Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist. Previously, I was Director of Social Services for an accredited Hospital. I supervised a number of therapists; providing direct counseling for more complex cases. I have been an Adjunct Faculty member at Argosy University.
