I am a psychiatrist in the Hollywood District of Northeast Portland, Oregon. I see my work as a collaboration with you to help you better endure and shift painful or frustrating challenges in relationships, feel less isolated and cornered by intense emotions during early or extended addiction recovery, or understand patterns of distressing conflicts in one or more areas of your life that can and will be recreated anew. I have found that psychotherapy is the best modality for making lasting, real change; therefore, I devote the majority of my professional time for individual psychotherapy cases. I provide initial consultations where we discuss enough of your story to decide on your initial course of relief and change. Your consultation concludes with pragmatic recommendations to begin psychotherapy together, establish medication recommendations for primary care providers, or answer referring clinicians' questions. Unfortunately I am unavailable currently for assessments. I work to integrate the wisdom developing from medical science (evidence-based practices), assist in cultivating or expanding personal practices such as meditation, and prioritize the healing power that emerges through a therapeutic relationship. I strive to practice with a collaborative, respectful approach to personal change and recovery.
