Suzanne has a background in psychology and marital, couple, and family counseling. Since receiving her master’s degree in counseling from Idaho State University, she has gained experience in counseling clients of all ages who struggle with a range of issues, including: familial and marital issues; grief and loss; substance abuse; sexual dysfunction; severe and persistent mental illness; sexual abuse; domestic abuse; and, acute and posttraumatic stress disorders. Suzanne is a strengths-based and gender-informed counselor who focuses on cultivating wellness, personal empowerment, emotional awareness, and happiness in her clients. Suzanne is available for evening appointments. Suzanne has experience in many areas of mental health but her primary area of interest is relationship counseling. She believes a relationship should enhance the lives of those within it; ideally, a relationship should be a force greater than the sum if its parts. Suzanne has done extensive research on happiness, strengths, healthy relationships, emotional awareness, effective communication, personality disorders, sexual wellness, substance abuse and dependency, severe and persistent mental illness, and codependency.
