I specialize in treating patients with anxieties, phobias, bipolar disorder, somatization, behavioral problems, and personality issues. Proper diagnosis is central to designing effective treatment and this is a strength of my practice. The result of this model is my rate of successful treatment is greater than average in the profession. I also consult with other providers regarding their difficult patients in three states. When appropriate, I offer biofeedback, various methods of relaxation, exposure therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am part of the only fully trained DBT Consultation Team offering individual, group, team consults, and 24-hour availability. I primarily work with adults, although I do treat children and teenagers as part of a family system. I only refer psychiatrists when necessary with the aim of using a minimum of psychotropic interventions but with the goal of offering an improved quality of life.
