Hallmark to a therapeutic relationship is the provision of a safe environment, unconditional positive regard, trust and alliance. These components are essential for us to find the answers you seek; the inquiry into a new path to follow; and/or the resolution of painful past events. Personal growth involves finding new coping tools; exploring new ways to think about yourself, others, and the world; and developing goals toward a life well-lived. You are the expert in your life and I will be on your team assisting you through a vehicle called counseling. It is a gift you give yourself. Susan provides service with children, adolescents, families, adults, and couples. Play Therapy uses the curative language of play to help children express what is troubling them when they cannot say their thoughts and feelings in words. Through play, children learn adaptive behaviors when there are emotional or social skill deficits. Families play an important role in children's healing processes. Children can develop issues related to problems within the family. Sometimes the entire family becomes stressed because the child's problems are so disruptive. In all cases, children and families heal faster when they work together.
