In my practice I often work with people who are experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression due to stress, relationship difficulties, important transitions in their lives, trauma, grief and loss. Individuals, couples and families who are experiencing overwhelming emotions can benefit from a supportive approach. This helps them to clarify and communicate their concerns and develop their own goals. When verbal communication is not enough, I offer clients of all ages creative means to express themselves. My approach is collaborative with clients as they empower themselves within the therapeutic relationship and move towards making positive changes in their lives. With children and adolescents art therapy approaches help to establish freedom of expression and a sense of trust. I am equally comfortable with traditional verbal counseling approaches. Adults usually come to therapy with lots to talk about, and some like to engage in personal exploration from a visual perspective. I have been in private practice in the same location for over 20 years. Before that, I worked in several treatment programs for troubled children and adolescents. My practice expanded and now I enjoy serving people across the lifespan.
