I provide practical and affordable consultation and on going therapy to children, teens, parents and families. I also work with individual adults as well as couples, gay or straight. The goal of my practice is to provide a setting where you feel comfortable partnering with me in building strategies that will help you live your best life. My primary training has been in the field of mental health. I can also help when you are facing a life transition or feeling out of sorts and need to touch base in a safe place, confidentially. My approach to therapy begins with a developmental perspective-I pay close attention to where you are in your lifespan-it often tells an important story about the challenges that you may be facing. I utilize skills from therapy approaches of CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT and Motivational Interviewing. Coping skills that are taught include Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and basic Mindfulness practices. Relationship seems to be the most important factor in weaving all of this together. Compassion, empathy and laughter are always a large part of any session.
