I once heard it said that "No one makes it through first grade without getting beaten up by life." As children we are particularly vulnerable, since children often lack the internal resources and even the external support needed to effectively navigate life's hardships. As we continue through life, the accumulation of adverse experiences can become more than we can handle. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified EMDR Therapist, I am ready to use my skills to assist you in alleviating and overcoming your particular struggles. I am a generalist with experience in working with adults, adolescents and children. Although I am a generalist and have worked with a variety of clinical issues, my areas of specialization are trauma, attachment and dissociation. I explore how past experiences may continue to impact current difficulties,incorporating EMDR into an overall treatment approach that includes the integration of Christian spirituality with psychotherapy.
