Many of us experience emotional hardships and strains which affect our abilities to create and sustain satisfying connections, or feel like our strongest self. Our emotions can be affected by adjustments, grief and loss, traumas, physical illness, family distress, and life transitions which can have rippling effects across our multiple roles. Taking a step to connect with a trained counseling professional, with whom you feel a strong and safe fit, can be one way to feel support and better. A trusting relationship with a therapist is important for counseling to feel helpful. My approach is supportive and insight-driven to help people engage with others intentionally. I work with young adults and adults who struggle with depression and anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, body image, life adjustments, cultural identities, and chronic illness. Another service I provide includes comprehensive, culturally sensitive testing and assessments for adults, namely for: attention-related and learning disability assessments for university students; trauma; personality; and psychoeducational assessments. Assessments can allow for greater clarity about how we learn and work more successfully, react in stressful or triggering circumstances, or build relationships.
