I believe every person has the ability to facilitate healthy changes and has the right to be free from emotional pain and trauma. My ideal client is a person who believes he/she is ready to change his/her life and open to exploring his/her capacity to change from within. The therapeutic relationship is unique and transactional, and it is imperative to have a safe, trusting and nurturing environment in which to do this transformational work. I highlight a person's strengths and build from the strongest foundation possible to create the happiest and healthiest life. My specialities include mood and anxiety disorders, chronic mental illness, LGBT issues, gender identity, couples work, family therapy, core strengthening and nurturance work, grief/bereavement, holistic healing, sexual abuse and trauma, attachment issues, adoption, spirituality, primary caregiver stress, EAP/work-related issues, end of life issues and comorbid conditions. My primary goal is to provide the best comprehensive care and create the opportunity for permanent change. My collaboration with psychiatrists within my practice allows for medication management when appropriate, as this is an important piece to increasing baseline functioning so therapy can be most effective.
