I believe that, in order to best understand ourselves, we must start from within while exploring our environment, relationships, and identities. Many people who identify as LGBTQ, as well as Queer and Trans people of color prefer therapists that have experiences that match their own. I understand this and am constantly working to understand how my identities impact the therapeutic relationship in terms of race, ability, gender, language, citizenship status, and spiritual beliefs. I work to ensure your whole self is welcome in my office and that my therapeutic services are offered with integrity and respect for your needs. I have a master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy with an emphasis on trauma recovery, resilience building and social action art therapy. I have ten years experience working in mental health, violence prevention, building healthy relationships, and using creative means to explore identity, challenging experiences, and relationships. You can expect to be treated with utmost respect. I strive to listen and provide support with empathy, compassion, and curiosity. I use a client-centered approach, which means your therapy will be guided by your goals. I will also write letters for transgender people seeking hormones and/or surgery.
