I specialize in establishing a safe and deeply authentic treatment relationship in which we can explore a range of goals and feelings over time. As we identify your therapy goals, we will work together to understand your own unique needs, what works and what does not, creating an environment that encourages acceptance and expression of emotion. Some of the work may focus on developing insight to help your own capacity to reflect. Additionally, we may choose to work with images and dreams to help illuminate what happens internally. Exploring these avenues can bring depth and meaning to what sometimes feel like meaningless feelings and actions. As a psychoanalytically informed therapist, I will look to both the past and the present to help you understand how the past influences your current life. Another analytic tool that is often helpful to making long-lasting change is exploring and working through the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship. I have specialty training in depth psychology, focusing on understanding and working with the unconscious through dream work and the therapeutic relationship. Post graduate training includes several courses in dream work and a fellowship at Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis (MIP). I am a candidate in psychoanalysis at MIP. I also provide individual and group supervision.
