I view counseling as a collaborative effort between myself and the client. My main goal as a clinician is to provide effective services that better the lives of my clients in the long term. I believe that the client is the expert in his or her own life, and that my role as the therapist is to empower the client by increasing self-awareness and by facilitating change in the client's life. I have specialized training in trauma, domestic violence, and crisis prevention intervention. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, grief/loss, and other life transitions. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced physical and sexual abuse using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to private practice, I have worked in school settings, community mental health agencies, career centers, and residential settings.
