My strength as a therapist is establishing strong therapeutic relationships so I can understand who you are as an individual, and how your unique experiences have shaped the way you respond to life situations. I work collaboratively with clients to identify struggles or issues causing current emotional distress or challenges. I use a variety of theoretical approaches to help clients meet therapeutic goals bringing about a number of positive life changes, such as: emotional healing, resiliency, improved mood, increased self-esteem, personal insight and growth, increased self-determination, effective coping skills, improved interpersonal relationships, and an increased sense of empowerment. While my specialty is trauma related disorders I enjoy working with all populations. I've worked five years at Mountain Home AFB serving the mental health needs of military service members and their families. As a retired military veteran myself I'm familiar with the special challenges facing that population.
