I often work with clients who are truly struggling with life - in relationships, with personal situations, with trauma. I focus on resiliency, hope, and growth, and I try to help clients apply tools and skills as they talk through their thoughts and feelings. I am interactive and collaborative, and employ a down-to-earth, relaxed approach to therapy. I help people discover and maximize their personal strengths. I can help you be more effective in relationships, regulate your mood, and tolerate distress in your life. I see individuals with many challenges, but I specialize in trauma (including sexual assault and child abuse), PTSD, self-harming behaviors, and personality disorders. I integrate several theoretical orientations, including CBT, DBT, interersonal therapy, and mindfulness. I work with teenagers and adults. In addition, I conduct workshops for law enforcement on sexual assault, I am adjunct faculty at Emory School of Medicine, and I am a community consultant. I am available to conduct workshops or give talks on a number of topics including and I also provide expert testimony on these and other related issues.
