Working as a team we will discover ways you can move forward in life with improved coping skills and ways to manage difficulties. I work with individual adults and couples, and have over 20 years' experience in treating a variety of mental health conditions and concerns using research based methods. I am trained in the Gottman method of couples therapy (Level III), and am certified as a Gottman 7 Principles Program Educator. Dr. Schmit has specialized training in health psychology (the emotional and behavioral aspects of chronic pain and illness), and also has advanced training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy -- a research-based approach to treating marital and relationship difficulties.
