Many times the difficulties in our lives are the result of a loss of control over our lives or portions of our lives. Most of our areas of concern are essentially due to loss, perceived loss or fear of loss. For example, losing a loved one, the loss of our health, a job, of money, or of stature in our community. These can cause anxiety, stress, behavioral issues, impulsivity, depression and more. Coping mechanisms simply may not work. Some continue to use the coping mechanisms from the past, some turn to alcohol and/or drugs, or "act out," others simply do nothing and wait for the feelings to go away. I have been in practice in the State of Florida for over 25 years and have helped people define and understand their losses and fears, as well as how to deal with those feelings and situations.
