I received a bachelor of science in psychology with a concentration in developmental psychology from Duke University and a Master of Social Work degree from the UNC-Chapel Hill. My approach is strength-based and collaborative in nature, assisting the client in becoming his or her best self in the midst of the emotional and behavioral challenges they are experiencing. My clinical experience includes intervention/prevention work with early childhood, pre-adolescents, and adolescents in the areas of anxiety, social skill development, substance use, peer relational aggression, and early childhood development. Additionally, I have worked with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management, and conflict resolution. I have worked in school and private practice settings delivering individual and group based psychotherapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused treatment to youth diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, Autism, self-esteem and anger management issues. I enjoy integrating creative methods into therapy such as theater techniques to achieve treatment goals. My experiences have engendered a keen appreciation of cultural differences and have allowed me to incorporate these differences in treatment when relevant.
