Working with couples has been a passion of mine. I have been married for 30+ years and know that marriage has its ups and downs. Sometimes major crises occur that make it seem like a marriage won't last, but it isn't true. There are practices and habits and healing that happen that make marriages, your marriage, stronger and more satisfying. It can be done. I have a lot of hope for people who want to turn things around in their marriages. I see this process of therapy as collaboration. I bring professional understanding, objectivity and hope, while I see my clients bringing willingness. I also enjoy working with individuals who are dealing with the challenges of depression, anxiety, OCD, grief and trauma. Usually within the first session, people will sense whether or not they can work with me. For some people the integration of faith is important in their growth. I enjoy this challenge and will walk with people as they explore this part of their life as well. I do not see the various parts of our lives (the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social) as exclusive.
