Many of the causes of human suffering stem from an inability to manage our reactions to both everyday and unique life stressors. I train people with problems related to over-arousal (anxiety, ASD, ADHD, obsessiveness, anger/rage, some types of addictions) and with under-arousal (depression, ADD, addiction to stimulants). I help clients to gain greater levels of control over their nervous systems so that they can transform life's challenges into opportunities to gain greater mastery over their behavior and their world. I specialize in helping people that are not benefiting sufficiently from other types of therapy. I use computer-assisted equipment that displays physiological data (skin conductance, heart rate, respiration, EEG, EMG, hemoencephalography, skin temperature, Slow Cortical Potentials) to me and the client so that we can better understand the physical nature of the problem and teach the client greater voluntary control over their bodies. My practice combines my experience with eastern meditation, existential psychotherapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, and peripheral/neurofeedback. My role is to assist clients to gain greater self-mastery using sound, empirically-based approaches that are both modern and ancient.
