I have worked for many years in the mental health field providing various levels of care from inpatient to outpatient providing individuals and their significant others services that help make their lives work for them. Each therapeutic intervention is unique and individual to the clients I serve. Whether a client is working through a phase of life issue, mood disorder, bereavement, interpersonal and or occupational related conflicts I utilize the 'person in their situation', cognitive behavioral interventions and hypnotherapy to enhance their coping skills and thereby their quality of life. As a therapist I provide and promote: a therapeutic alliance, culturally sensitive assessments, facilitate awareness, promote hopefulness, ensure intra and interpersonal experiences of behavioral change, ensure the client takes credit, conduct relapse prevention, address basic safety and symptom regulation, work on memory and belief systems, help the client find meaning in life and reconnect spiritually. My professional training both in medical and biopsychosocial healthcare facilitates a holistic approach to treatment. My nursing skills assists individuals with medically complex issues. Management work in healthcare organizations provided insight into organizational psychology. Healing the wounds 'of the past' to allow a 'healthier present' is my ultimate goal in providing treatment.
