I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I have experience and (a Master's degree) training specifically in family and couples work. My education included extensive studies of Bowen Theory, the Gottman's work on couples, and Susan Johnson's EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) in couple's work. I also work with individual adults and teens who need support; for example figuring out what needs to change in order to find self respect and happiness. In parenting work, I help parents learn how to gain respect and incorporate new parenting skills according to their own personality styles. I have unconditional positive regard for my clients. I am an empathetic, strength-based clinician and I believe people can change for the better. Past negative behaviors does not necessarily mean future negative behaviors. I like to help people bring out their best selves and have a vision of hope for their future. I am holistic minded, a systems thinker and can incorporate support with over-all health as part of treatment. I also always strive to "listen until I experience the other side" and use myself as therapist in a honest way. I feel honored and blessed to do this work.
