Food Addiction/Eating Disorder Treatment Program In 1989, Turning Point of Tampa developed what is now a has a nationally recognized Eating Disorders Program. The program is designed to provide opportunities for our male and female clients with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder to explore personal issues in a supportive environment. Turning Point of Tampa utilizes a 12-step approach to recover from "Food Addiction" and focuses on the development of coping skills to deal with day-to-day stressors to encourage mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellness. This includes individualized abstinent food plans, individual and group counseling, body image groups, education on meal planning, food shopping, meal preparation, weighing & measuring of food and eating meals as a group. Eating Disorders are progressive, addictive, dangerous and potentially fatal. Turning Point of Tampa encourages the development of healthy eating, balanced exercise, positive body image and assertive communication skills. About Us Founded in 1987, Turning Point of Tampa is located on a large, one-campus therapeutic property. We provide affordable Residential, Day/Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment services for chemical dependency, eating disorders and dual diagnosis. Serving both males and females, our clients are 18 years of age and older. Highly structured, our programs are conducted in a safe, caring environment while adhering to a 12-Step approach. The emphasis is placed on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the whole person. Clients follow a treatment plan that is tailored to fit their own special needs, which included individual and group counseling. Our staff has both personal and professional knowledge and experience with 12-Step recovery. Our treatment team includes a Medical Director, Psychiatrist, Registered Nurses, Masters Level Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, a Registered Dietician, Social Workers and Certified Addictions Professionals.
