As a doctoral-level psychologist, I have specialized training and long-term experience in treating a wide variety of problems and issues. I work with individuals, couples, families, parents, adolescents and children. I am interactive, engaging, and direct. I clarify presenting problems and surrounding circumstances, and assess level of emotional distress. I gain an understanding of what my clients would like to achieve, what their goals are, and we interactively develop a plan. Every person is unique to me. My approach to helping them is determined by the nature of the problem and their style of interaction. When I work with children, I almost always assess interactions between all family members; parent to child, parent to parent, sibling to child. My focus is not always solely on the child. Sometimes family interactions unwittingly serve to maintain problems; when change can be made there, the child may change. A native rural Vermonter, I developed a longstanding private practice in urban Redondo Beach, California. Previous affiliations include UCLA, USC School of Medicine, and Pepperdine University. I returned to Vermont to help my aging mother. I have had a diverse clientele over the years, and good success in achieving positive results.
