Positive mental health is more than just the absence of mental illness; it is the presence of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and social balance and wellness. I provide confidential counseling services to meet the needs of individuals experiencing mental health difficulties related to mental illness, challenging life stressors or major life events including the following: depression/mood disorder, anxiety, OCD, phobias, adjustment issues, relationship problems, career issues, substance disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, and trauma. I offer a holistic, integrative approach to therapeutic intervention. Providing a safe and therapeutic environment to help you work through emotional pain and develop opportunities for healing, happiness, personal growth, and enrichment. Counseling may focus on helping you to experience and work through difficult emotions, identify and challenge unhealthy or irrational thoughts and beliefs, restructure problematic behavior and/or develop healthy coping skills. I have a Masters of Education in counseling and development with a specialist focus on clinical mental health. I have experience with adolescent and adult populations with psychiatric and psychological disturbances as well as mood, personality, trauma-related, and substance use disorders and developmental disabilities. I also have experience with crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
