I worked as a psychologist in Italy for several years, before coming to the United States and obtaining a PhD in psychology at the University of Michigan.Subsequently I completed a training in psychoanalysis at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute I have worked as a clinical psychologist and a psychoanalyst in Ann Arbor (MI) for ten years. When I meet with a client, my main goal is to connect with the full person and to help the person feel understood. Working from this connection, I help define and realize the goals for therapy, using the therapeutic techniques most appropriate for each client's characteristics and needs. I have extensive experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, couples therapy, and psychoanalysis. I work effectively using both a short-term approach, and an open-ended, exploratory approach. On account of my multicultural experience, I am particularly able to connect with clients from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. My areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, work and career problems, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, intimacy difficulties, trauma, loss and bereavement, divorce, parenting, emotional abuse, and sexual abuse. My office is conveniently located close to downtown Ann Arbor, with free parking available.
