I believe that therapy is a cooperative process that requires a strong, safe, trusting relationship between a client and a therapist. I provide a warm, comfortable, and accepting environment in which one can explore a wide range of issues and concerns without the fear of judgment or reproach. I believe that therapy is an important tool for lasting change and, to be most helpful, it should be tailored to a client's individual needs. The ideal client is one who is interested in self-exploration, the possibility of change, and the time neccessary to achieve both. I have experience working with issues related to depression, anxiety, adjustment concerns, family and interpersonal relationship difficulties, life transition issues, and issues of childhood. I have a history of working with children, adults, and families in a variety of contexts and believe in a cooperative approach to success in therapy. I believe strongly in the goodness of fit between a client and a therapist. With this in mind, I focus on understanding the specific needs and concerns of each person I work with, doing so in an environment that is welcoming, comfortable, and evokes feelings of safety and acceptance.
