I believe that individuals, couples and families have the resources within themselves to reach their full potential. My job as a therapist is to help them reach that potential. In addition to my credentials as a marriage and family therapist and a mental health counselor, I have taught lifespan psychology at the local universities for the past several years. As a result, my training and experience have equipped me with a unique insight into the human condition. One of my areas of expertise is bereavement. I have done extensive research on grief and loss as this was the subject of my doctoral dissertation. This research, along with a personal loss of family members, has given me the tools to help others. One of my favorite areas of counselilng is couples counseling. I use the Richard Stuart behavorial model which is very successful with my couples. I use homework assignments that my couples enjoy doing, especially date night and caring days.
