My ideal client is an adult or adolescent who is interested in beneffiting from therapy. It could be more than one client, couple or family where at least one member is seeking change. Change includes both how the client behaves, expresses themselves as well as how they think about themselves and in relation to others in their life. I give active feedback to the client about how I view them, and actively as well as supportively use the therapuetic relationship to help facilitate that change. My training has been in interpersonal models (eg. couples and family therapy) as well as psychodynamic models (eg.Object relations), Insight , knowing oneself, is combined with thoughtful assesment of interaction with others, producing lasting change. I teach these areas to professional students in social work and family therapy (Uof P, Drexel U.) I have been a therapist as well as a teacher of practice for over 30 years, and pride myself in keeping up to date in my knowledge of current theories and evidenced based practice. I feel I know individuals as well as the challenges individuals face in important relationships in their life.
