Our residential treatment programs call 150-acres in the majestic mountains of Central Pennsylvania home. We have provided men, women and adolescents with life-changing addiction treatment since 1999. Signs and Symptoms of Addiction When someone is suffering from an addiction he or she is likely to be experiencing a number of negative consequences, and may also be struggling with feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness associated with not being able to give up such a destructive habit. Those who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs often have difficulties within their interpersonal relationships, which may lead to social isolation and the inability to see any hope for the future. They may also begin to show a number of physical signs and symptoms including bloodshot eyes, change in appetite or sleep patterns, deterioration of physical appearance, tremors, slurred speech, and impaired coordination. Furthermore, needing to use more of a substance in order to obtain desired effects, needing drugs to avoid withdrawal symptoms, loss of control over drug use, the abandonment of activities one used to enjoy, and continuing to use substances despite the negative consequences that are occurring as a result are all indications that an addiction may be present. Treatment Options at White Deer Run Allenwood We offer many different treatment modalities here at White Deer Run Allenwood and will work hard to determine what treatment programs fit your individual needs. All age groups are offered gender-specific programming. Continuing care, medication management, the 12 step recovery model and a variety of therapeutic interventions may be utilized as well, in order to better help patients recover. In addition, we offer our Stepping Stones program, which is focused on adolescents. It includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), choice therapy, motivational interviewing, and the principles of the 12-step recovery model.
