A therapist must be a good listener. A large part of therapy is "telling one's story" and in the process discovering oneself. I view my role as supporting and guiding this process of growth and self discovery. This may involve exploring patterns from the past or the present. It may helpful to learn new skills (communicating, coping with stress, relaxing or parenting). In addition to psychotherapy, I am working with the elderly and those with chronic illnesses. I have a special interest in the use of journaling for personal growth and creativity. After many years working within large government organizations or in large group practices, in 2003 I decided to pursue solo practice. I see people in a small private setting. I am flexible in scheduling and I am able to offer reduced rates for those unable to pay the full fee. GROUP THERAPY: The first sessions focus on information about how to overcome obstacles and reach one's personal goals in order to live life to the fullest. Thereafter, group members have the opportunity to apply the skills and support each other in making constructive changes in their lives.
