Brian is currently a doctoral candidate in Oakland University's Doctor of Philosophy in Education: Counseling program. He also holds a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Oakland University. Brian is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan and is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. Brian has a wide range of experience counseling a variety of concerns in individual and group settings. He has advanced training and experience working with individuals suffering from anxiety, substance abuse, depression, transitional difficulties, as well as grief and loss. Brian believes all individuals have the power to change. Therapy is a process of journeying with another individual while they rewrite their story in a positive and meaningful way. Brian uses an integrated approach that includes Existential, Narrative, and Psychodynamic perspective to build a safe, and trusting relationship, where change can happen. Brian values client's individual and cultural differences by focusing on how personal, familial, and societal pressures influence an individual's perception of his or her problem. Furthermore, Brian is appreciative and sensitive to the diversity of religious and spiritual issues.
