My therapeutic focus is on relationship. People come to therapy because they have lost touch with their sense of self, identity, and wholeness, or they have had painful experiences which have injured their trust and ability to connect. Therapy is about relearning skills and experiencing a safe relationship while rediscovering oneself as healthy, happy and whole. Anxiety, eating disorders, and depression are symptoms. Of what? Reconnect with your inner wisdom, and any problem is solvable. My strength is in empathic listening, skill building and reflecting your unique strengths without judgment. In practice since 1995, I have extensive skills and knowledge to address the issues that bring people into therapy. I am trained in, and have taught cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT, REBT, DBT, EMDR) but also work with relational, attachment, and more creative modalities as they are useful to clients. I have a practice focus in eating disorders and anxiety, with emphasis on healthy weight management. My emphasis is on addressing the purpose of the symptoms, strengthening self-esteem, improving emotion regulation and self-acceptance. People can and DO recover, and live without anxiety, perfectionism and fear of failure.
