I have wanted to become an art therapist since the age of 15. It has been the perfect combination as I can bring my passion for art and my clinical counseling training to the therapeutic process. I have watched people develop their creative side when they did not think they had the ability and find a way to express themselves more deeply than just through language. I therapeutically use art within the professional counseling relationship to assist people increase self-awareness, gain strength to better cope with symptoms and stress and improve quality of life as well as being able to enjoy the centering and therapeutic process of creating art. I work as a part of treatment team that collaborates in our treatment approach.
