My therapy values your unique human experience as I seek to empathize and understand your situation, which will lead you toward interpersonal learning and individual growth. When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher; as I got older I realized that what I loved even more was teaching people how to improve their lives. My background in working with a troubled teen boarding school for three years and a community mental health outpatient clinic for two years has provided me with the necessary foundation of empathy, listening skills, dealing with diversity, and working under stressful conditions. Three years at various research labs completing four research studies in the following: prenatal effects of drug and alcohol abuse, the dependent variable of the EKG on nasal stimuli, the various factors that play into the conceptualization of adolescents' future orientation, stigma of obesity, and gender differences in pain reports Certifications in: Case Management, Cultural Sensitivity, Limited English Language Proficiency (LEP), Bloodborne Pathogens/ Universal Precautions, De-escalation Skills, and Co-occurring Disorders.
