I work with individuals of all ages and the families with whom they are connected. Solutions are best when the individual issues are addressed and then integrated into a healthy family system. When one person changes, others can no longer maintain the same patterns. Trauma is often at the core of dysfunction. Poor boundaries, misdirected emotion and communication breakdowns create a toxic environment that stifles growth and potential. A variety of techniques are applied to open the heart, clear the mind, modify behaviors and rebuild positive interactions. I have studied trauma with Bessel Vander Kolk, "The Body Keeps the Score"; and Pat Ogden's level 1 Sensiomotor Psychotherapy. These therapeutic understandings of trauma inform my practice.Whether Life Coaching or dealing with deep trauma, you can expect to gain a higher awareness of your own unique way of being in the world. I teach and advise in the Graduate Counseling program at Central Michigan University - Global Campus. I appreciate this ongoing relationship with this institution of higher learning. It keeps me current with trends and research, and provides a highly skilled consultative network.
