Since completing my master's degree and post-grad training at UM in 2009, I've worked with adults in crisis intervention, inpatient and community-based settings. In all of these contexts, as well as in my own life, I've found that all of us complicated, unique humans share some simple, common goals. In the words of the poet Hafiz, we all want "to love more, and be happy." I've also found that with some bravery, strength and wisdom, the difficulties we face today can serve as catalysts toward positive change and a more meaningful, fulfilling life. Seeking help is a brave step toward uncovering the strength and wisdom that are already inside you--qualities that can be hard to see when depression, anxiety, trauma, destructive behavior, low self-esteem or other challenges get in the way. Using Mindfulness and Acceptance-based strategies, as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical-Behavioral tools, let's work together to understand and overcome the specific challenges you're facing, so that you may feel free, equipped and empowered to pursue your vision of a love-filled, happy life.
