Therapy is about making change in yourself and your life. This outcome is achieved by finding the courage and the means for that change to happen. I believe it is a person's way of thinking that determines how they feel and act. Each individual has a unique thought process based on personal history and a set of beliefs about the world in which we live and who we are as human beings. My role is to assist each person by determining what it is they need to help themselves. I have worked for over twenty years as a practitioner of psychotherapy in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) settings in Battle Creek. As an EAP Therapist I usually have a limited number of sessions to help my clients. I primarily work with adult individuals, but am also very fond of working with couples. I received my Masters in Social Work from Western Michigan University in 1987, and I am affiliated with the Academy of Certified Social Workers. I utilized a variety of techniques, but rely heavily upon cognitive and brief solution oriented approaches.
