Are you stuck in patterns that get you nowhere? Wracked by self doubt, anxiety, or guilt? --Therapy offers us a means of addressing whatever keeps you from moving forward and feeling better about yourself. There are good reasons for struggling in whatever ways you are. It is up to us to make sense of these struggles, particularly if they seem repetitive and nonsensical. Then we'll figure out how to resolve them. I do this in a warm, caring, collaborative, and respectful manner, knowing that this journey takes patience and persistence and can reap tremendous rewards along the way. Some people come to me wondering how to build satisfying relationships, deal with losses, gain a stronger sense of identity, or progress with their educations and careers. Others feel oppressed by shame, depression, or anger. I use listening and intervention skills acquired through years of advanced postdoctoral training to address such powerful feelings and needs. In addition to training at Columbia University and Michigan, I worked for years with couples and individuals through the U. of M. Medical Center and taught graduate courses. Now I practice privately near Kerrytown and supervise other clinicians. --Feel free to call if you'd like to talk further.
