In my 22 years as a psychologist I have sought to work collaboratively with individuals in emotional healing and personal growth and decision-making. I have accompanied many people on parts of their journeys toward self-discovery, self-acceptance and empowerment as they have experienced depression, anxiety and confusion. Those who are shy,unsure of themselves or interested in the interplay of psychological, physical, spiritual and cultural influences on their lives are often particularly good matches for my style. I also bring life experience as mother, educator, developer of a cross-cultural youth and family counseling program, and religious leader.. My specialties lie in the treatment of depression and anxiety, spiritual concerns, and grief.. How I approach treatment is highly tailored to the individual. I am very attuned to ways that religious and spiritual beliefs and experiences affect emotional health. Bibliotherapy& mindfulness interventions are added tools which I often engage. The name of my practice, Shepherds Staff Counseling Services originated in the valuing and understanding of the religious journey. I value diversity and bring seven years of working in a cross-cultural environment. I work with a population of college students through later adulthood, with some marital work included.
