You deserve comprehensive and individualized psychiatric care! WHY INTEGRATIVE PSYCHIATRY? While most psychiatric practices rely heavily on psychiatric medications (with or without counseling) we offer additional paths to wellness, including recommendations on specific nutritional supplementation and herbs, lifestyle modifications (e.g. mind-body practices), and electromagnetic treatments (e.g. Bright-light therapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder, Neurofeedback for ADD/ADHD, and more obscure but highly effective treatments). OUR GOALS: Accurate Diagnosis of problem(s), Custom-tailored treatments, and Excellent service. WHAT TO EXPECT: An initial office visit is approximately 90 minutes. You can expect to be treated with respect, dignity, and humility. At the conclusion of your psychiatric evaluation, you will be provided significant education (we like our patients to be empowered!) You will be taught the pros and cons of various holistic (natural) and conventional-medical treatment options. We usually provide you a form to obtain labwork so that we can ensure that your vitamin & mineral levels have been optimized. FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS: We see you back 1-6 weeks after your initial visit, lasting 20 - 30 minutes. SUPERVISION: All of your treatment is supervised by Lila Massoumi,MD, chair of the American Psychiatric Association Caucus on Integrative Medicine.
