I have been in clinical practice since 1977. For 25 years I have served as faculty for the Institute for Individual and Group Psychotherapy (www.iigp.org). Our model of therapy is designed to help reorganize the way a person expresses himself in his/her world, and to help correct faulty emotional assumptions that are rooted not only in past experience but also in one's neural pathways. Adults who suffer depression/anxiety, and live repeatedly in self-defeating ways, are a good fit. As you might guess the work is intensive and takes commitment from you, and me.. I integrate regular therapy with treatment of the body's tense way of carrying emotional distress. Obviously chronic tension can evolve into medical problems. Consistent work can unbind, or release, the emotion from the tension. Direct bodywork can also be done independently of psychotherapy. If interested, call for further information I am fortunate to be able to review my work regularly with a long-standing team of peers. But most importantly, I have been blessed with patients who, in the many vulnerable hours of exploring themselves, have allowed me the privilege of working with them ...and learning from them.
