Life is difficult. And for various reasons--pride, fear and procrastination among them--we as humans don't always readily reach out for help. There are many ways to reach out. Some do it through talking to family members or clergy. Some through friends or support groups. And sometimes the problems we are dealing with go away by themselves. But not usually. Sometimes our problems are signs that more serious issues need tending. For example, a person struggling with depression may find he or she is in that state because of choices made that have limited their range of options and feelings. And the depression is, in part, a sign that things radically need to change. I've worked with children, adolescents, couples and families. (You knew the sales pitch was coming.) I've worked in various roles in social services and counseling for over 20 years and am a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist.
